(25)Cooling System - Add Cooling System Inhibitor

------ WARNING! ------

Always inspect cooling system with engine stopped.

Remove radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure. Steam can cause personal injury.

Inhibitor contains alkali, avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.

------WARNING!--------

NOTICE

Do not use AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor with Dowtherm 209 coolant.

At first 500 SERVICE HOURS OR 3 MONTHS on a new or reconditioned machine: Add 5.25 pints AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor, or equivalent, so that the cooling system will have a 3% concentration of inhibitor.

EVERY 500 SERVICE HOURS, OR 3 MONTHS thereafter: Add 1.75 pints (1 litre) of AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor, or equivalent to the cooling system. This will maintain the required 3% concentration of inhibitor.

1. Loosen radiator cap slowly to relieve pressure, then remove cap.

NOTE: It may be necessary to drain enough coolant to allow for the addition of corrosion inhibitor.

2. Add AVSpare Cooling System Inhibitor, or equivalent.

3. Observe condition of radiator cap gasket. Replace if used one is damaged.
4. Install radiator cap.

(26)Transmission And Differential Housing

------ WARNING! ------

Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin. Use caution when draining oil or changing filters.

------WARNING!--------

NOTICE

Do not drop or rap magnets against hard objects.

1. Remove lower strainer cover and gasket.

NOTE: Approximately 5 U.S. Gallons (19 litres) of oil will drain out at this point.

2. Remove strainer and wash in non-flammable solvent. Remove all metal particles from the magnets.

3. Install clean strainer.
4. Inspect gasket, replace with a new gasket if necessary. Install gasket and cover.

5. Remove upper strainer cover and gasket.

6. Remove strainer and wash in clean non-flammable solvent.

7. Install clean strainer.

8. Inspect gasket, replace with a new one if necessary. Install gasket and cover.

9. Remove filter housing drain plug and drain oil.

10. Loosen filter housing using nut on bottom of housing. Remove housing and filter element.

11. Remove and discard filter element.

NOTE: Filter will be full of oil.

12. Wash filter housing in clean non-flammable solvent.
13. Clean filter housing base and inspect seals. Replace seals if necessary.
14. Install new filter element in housing. Install drain plug.

NOTE: Nut on bottom of housing is for removal purpose only.

15. Install filter housing hand tight only. Turn housing additional 1/2turn after housing contacts base.

NOTICE

Do not overtighten.

16. Measure oil level. Oil level should be between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick.
17. Start engine. Inspect for leaks.
18. Stop engine. Measure oil level and add oil if necessary.

(27)Fuel Tank Filler Cap And Screen

1. Remove fuel tank cap.

2. Disassemble cap and wash in clean non-flammable solvent.
3. Oil element lightly and assemble cap.
4. Remove retaining ring, and remove dipstick and fill screen.
5. Wash screen in non-flammable solvent.
6. Install screen retaining ring and dipstick.
7. Install fuel tank cap.

(28)Lower Articulation Pivot

Lubricate one fitting.

(29)Pump Drive Joints

Lubricate three fittings. (Fittings are accessible from either side of vehicle.)

NOTE: It may be necessary to rotate the drive group so the fittings are in line with access cover.

(30)Engine Breather

1. Loosen clamps.

2. Remove breather.
3. Wash breather in clean non-flammable solvent.
4. Install clean breather and tighten clamps.

(31)Hydraulic System

------ WARNING! ------

Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin. Use caution when draining oil or changing filters.

------WARNING!--------

NOTE: Change filters earlier if RED plunger in filter indicator (one for each filter) is in the UP position with oil at operating temperature and engine running at high idle.

1. Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.
2. Remove bolts and filter housing cover.

3. Remove and discard filters.

4. Remove screen and wash in non-flammable solvent.
5. Install new filter and screen. Install filter housing cover.

6. Measure oil level. Maintain oil level to FULL mark in sight gauge.
7. Reset indicator.

(32)Front Axle Lower Bearings

NOTE: This inspection is to be performed at first 2000 service hours and every 500 service hours after initial inspection.

Machine must be level, implements lowered to ground, parking brake applied, front wheels vertical (not leaned to right or left) engine stopped, disconnect switch OFF and key removed.

1. Remove plugs from the bottom of the arm assembly on each side of machine.

2. Measure clearance between pin (A) and bearing (B) of both arm assemblies. Clearance must be less than .090 inch (2.3 mm).

3. Measure clearance between axle lean arm and spindle housing at top. With new thrust pack and correct counterbore dimension, clearance should be .0175 ± .0055 inch (.44 ± .14 mm).

NOTE: Minimum clearance is .005 inch (.13 mm).

NOTE: If pin to bearing clearance is less than .090 inch (2.3 mm), the bearing does not require replacing. Install new plugs.

NOTICE

If pin to bearing clearance is greater than .090 inch (2.3 mm), or if axle lean arm to spindle housing clearance is less than .005 inch (.13 mm), consult your AVSpare dealer.

NOTE: If the front axle lower bearings require replacement, inspect remaining front axle bearings.

Also, measure pin to bearing clearance of the front axle oscillation bearing, articulation cylinders, blade lift cylinders and wheel lean cylinder.

Clearance must be less than .090 inch (2.3 mm). If pin to bearing clearance is greater, replace bearings where necessary. Consult your AVSpare dealer.
