NOTICE |
---|
ALWAYS KEEP THE ENGINE AT FULL THROTTLE AND AT A MINIMUM OF 2400 RPM WHILE MAKING A CUT. IF THE ENGINE STARTS TO FALL BELOW 2400 RPM, DECREASE THE TRAVEL SPEED. OPERATION AT ENGINE SPEEDS BELOW 2400 RPM: 1. REDUCES THE PRODUCTION RATE BECAUSE OF THE SLOWER CUTTER SPEED. 2. REDUCES COOLING OF THE ENGINE AND THE HYDRAULIC OIL BECAUSE OF THE SLOWER ENGINE FAN SPEED. 3. REDUCES THE FLOW OF COOLING OIL IN THE WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM BECAUSE OF THE SLOWER CHARGE PUMP SPEED. 4. LEADS PROGRESSIVELY AND RAPIDLY TO A STALL CONDITION. |

ENGINE NOISE CAN CAUSE HEARING DAMMAGE. WEAR EAR PROTECTION WHEN WORKING CONTINUOUSLY ON OR NEAR THE MACHINE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. |

To start the operation:
- 1. Position the machine at the starting point.
- 2. If so desired, use the machine tilt control to provide "Slope Left" or "Slope Right".
- 3. Lower the cutter to be used until it is just below the grade.
NOTICE |
---|
IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED THAT BOTH CUTTERS BE USED AT THE SAME TIME. THE MAIN CUTTER IS PROVIDED FOR USE UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE AUXILIARY CUTTER IS PROVIDED FOR USE IN TIGHT SITUATIONS SUCH AS CUTTING FLUSH WITH A CURB. |
- 4. Move the throttle lever all the way to "High".
- 5. Set the appropriate cutter control at "On".
- 6. Move the water spray control valve to either "Main Cutter" or "Aux. Cutter" depending upon the cutter being used.
- 7. Move the travel control forward to provide a slow travel speed.
![]() |
IF THE CUTTER IS LOWERED TOO FAST OR HITS SOME STEEL IN THE CONCRETE WHILE CUTTING, THE MACHINE WILL LUNGE BACKWARD SOME DISTANCE. THIS COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. LOWER THE CUTTER SLOWLY AND NEVER LET ANYONE STAND NEAR THE BACK OF THE MACHINE WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION. |
![]() |
- 8. As the machine starts forward, slowly lower the cutter until the desired depth of cut is reached. The depth of cut will be indicated on either the auxiliary cutter or main cutter depth scale.
NOTICE |
---|
THE MAXIMUM DEPTH OF CUT FOR THE MAIN CUTTER IS 6 INCHES (15.2 cm). THE AUXILIARY CUTTER HAS A MAXIMUM DEPTH OF CUT OF 5 1/2 INCHES (13.9 cm). |
- 9. After the machine has travelled forward about two machine lengths, stop the machine, check the grade being cut and make any necessary adjustments.
![]() |
IF THE GRADE IS CHECKED BEHIND THE CUTTER, THE MACHINE COULD HIT AN OBSTRUCTION AND LUNGE BACKWARD CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY. STOP THE MACHINE AND CHECK THE GRADE AT A DISTANCE BEHIND THE MACHINE. |

- 10. If it is necessary to correct the grade already cut:
- a. Stop the machine.
- b. Raise the cutter being used.
- c. Back to the starting point and start the operation again.
