Preparing The Machine For Freezing Temperatures

Anytime the machine is parked outside for a length of time in freezing weather without the spray system running, the water tank should be drained, the spray system water pump drained and the hoses drained of water.

------ WARNING! ------

INADVERTENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH.

------WARNING!--------

To prepare the machine for freezing temperatures:

1. Open the water tank drain valve and allow the water to drain. Close the drain valve.

2. Remove the bottom pipe plug in the water pump and allow the water to drain from the pump. Replace the pipe plug.
3. Disconnect the pump suction and pressure hoses from the water pump. Lower the hoses and allow any water to drain out.
4. Reconnect the hoses.

To prepare the spray system for operation after being drained:

1. Fill the water tank with water.

INADVERTENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH.

------WARNING!--------

2. Remove the topmost water pump pipe plug and allow water to flow from the port until the water is air-free.
3. Replace the pipe plug.

4. Connect the grease gun to the grease fitting and apply lubricant until resistance is felt on the grease gun handle.
5. Start the engine and check out operation of the spray system.
