1. Pack the cutter overhung load adaptor with grease.

Removing The Cutter Overhung Load Adaptor

------ WARNING! ------

INADVERTENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH.

------WARNING!--------
1. Remove the bolts which hold the drive plate to the upper sheave.
2. Loosen the jam nut on the slide adjustment and turn the adjustment nut to relieve the belt tension.
3. Remove the belts from the upper sheave.
4. Adequately support the sheave, overhung load adaptor and slide adjustment.
5. Remove the nuts and lockwashers, then remove the support angles.
6. Remove the sheave, overhung load adaptor and slide adjustment from the machine.
7. Remove the hub from the adaptor shaft. If the hub will not easily slip free, install the bolts through the hub and turn the bolts until they press against the sheave and break the hub free. Be careful not to lose the adaptor shaft key.
8. Remove the overhung load adaptor from the sheave.
9. Remove the adaptor bolts and remove the slide adjustment from the adaptor.
10. Move the adaptor to a place where it can be worked on.

Packing The Cutter Overhung Load Adaptor With Grease

1. Remove the snap ring from the overhung load adaptor.

2. Slide the bearings and shaft free of the adaptor body.

3. Remove the seal.
4. Clean the adaptor body of all gasket material and other foreign particles.
5. Install a new seal.
6. Coat the inside of the adaptor body with grease.
7. Position the bearings and shaft so that the first bearing is inside the adaptor body.
8. Fill the adaptor body with grease (see specification on page 5-1).
9. Slide the other bearing into the adaptor body and coat the outer face of the bearing with grease.
10. Install the snap ring.

Installing The Cutter Overhung Load Adaptor

1. Using a new gasket, bolt the slide adjustment to the overhung load adaptor.
2. Position the sheave on the adaptor.
3. Install the key on the adaptor shaft, install the hub on the shaft, then install the hub bolts.

INADVERTENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH.

4. Attach a lifting device to the sheave, adaptor and slide adjustment and move them to the machine.
5. Position the sheave, adaptor and slide adjustment so the adaptor bolts extend through the bracket and the slide adjustment allthread is in the bracket groove.
6. Install the support angles, nuts and lockwashers on the bolts.
7. Install the belts on the sheaves.
8. Bolt the drive plate to the upper sheave.
9. Adjust the belt tension (see page 5-30).
