PR-275 PAVEMENT PROFILER Auxiliary System Caterpillar

Auxiliary System
`

1. Auxiliary system pressure gauge - shows the hydraulic oil pressure in the auxiliary system. Normal pressure is 2,000 psi.
2. Steering wheel - steers the machine by controlling the flow of hydraulic oil to the steering cylinders.
3. Left front elevation selector - selects automatic ("Auto") or "Manual" control of the left front elevation cylinder. At the "Auto" position, the cylinder is controlled by the left elevation sensor. At the "Manual" position, the cylinder is controlled by manually moving the left front elevation control lever.
4. Left front elevation control lever - raises or lowers the left front leg when the left front elevation selector lever is at "Manual" and overrides the elevation sensor when in "Auto".
5. Left rear elevation control lever - raises or lowers the left rear leg. There is no automatic control of this leg.
6. Right side elevation selector - selects automatic ("Auto") or "Manual" control of the right side elevation cylinders. At the "Auto" position, the cylinders are controlled by the right elevation sensor or the cross slope sensor. At the manual position, the cylinders are controlled by manually moving the right side elevation control lever. The right side cylinders are interconnected hydraulically and, therefore, cannot be controlled individually.
7. Right side elevation automatic mode selector - selects the mode of automatic control of the right side elevation cylinders. With the selector at "Sensor", the cylinders are controlled by the right side elevation sensor. At "Slope", the cylinders are controlled by the cross slope sensor.
8. Right side elevation control lever - raises or lowers the right side legs. There is no individual control of the right side legs.
9. Slope Selector - sets the cross slope to be maintained when using cross slope control.
10. Slope indicator - shows the cross slope entered in the cross slope system.
11. Auxiliary hydraulic supply switch - turns electric power to the auxiliary hydraulic power pack "On" or "Off". With the switch at "On", the steering and elevation cylinders can be actuated slowly.

12. Left rear elevation scale - shows the elevation of the left rear leg in relation to the wheel. Used to set the machine in a level attitude front-to-rear while in a cut.
13. Cutter elevation scales - show the elevation of the cutter side plates in relation to the mainframe and cutter. This indicates the depth of cut being made at each end of the cutter.
