With Cross Slope Control
- 1. Position the machine at the starting point and lower the mainframe so the cutter is just above the grade and the mainframe is level. The elevation scales can be used to do this rapidly.
- 2. Set the wheel drive selector at "Working".
- 3. Place the left side sensor feeler rod on the reference rod or under the stringline (see page 3-8).
- 4. Set the slope indicator to the desired cross slope.
- 5. Set the control lever so the cutter is rotating at maximum speed.
- 6. Set the right side elevation selector at "Auto" and the right side elevation automatic mode selector at "Slope".
- 7. Set the left front elevation selector at "Auto".
- 8. Adjust the left elevation sensor so that the cutter teeth are just touching grade.
- 9. Set the left rear leg elevation scale to "O" and the cutter elevation scales to the depth of cut desired.
- 10. Set the engine at full throttle.
- 11. Move the water spray switch to "Start", hold it until the pressure builds up and then release it.
- 12. Move the wheel control lever forward to provide the desired working speed.
NOTICE |
---|
WHENEVER STARTING A CUT, LOWER THE CUTTER SLOWLY!! IF THE CUTTER IS LOWERED TOO FAST, THE MACHINE WILL RIDE UP ONTO THE CUTTER AND MOVE BACKWARDS SOME DISTANCE. THE MACHINE MAY ALSO JUMP BACKWARD A SHORT DISTANCE IF THE CUTTER HITS SOME STEEL IN THE CONCRETE WHILE CUTTING. NEVER LET ANYONE STAND NEAR THE BACK OF THE MACHINE WHILE IT IS IN OPERATION!! |
- 13. As the machine starts forward, slowly crank the elevation sensor up until the desired depth of cut is reached.
- 14. After the machine has travelled forward enough to see the cut, check the grade being cut and make any necessary adjustments.
NOTICE |
---|
DO NOT LET ANYONE IN FRONT OF THE REAR WHEELS TO CHECK THE GRADE BY KICKING LOOSE MATERIAL OUT OF THE WAY WITH THEIR FEET. |
- 15. If it is necessary to correct the grade already cut:
- a. Stop the machine.
- b. Move the left front elevation selector and the right side elevation selector to "Manual".
- c. Raise the mainframe with the elevation control levers.
- d. Move back to the starting point and start the operation again.
