PR-450 PAVEMENT PROFILER Auxiliary Hydraulic System Caterpillar

Auxiliary Hydraulic System
`

1. Steering controls - control the hydraulic cylinder that turns the front track to the "Left" or "Right".
2. Left rear elevation control - controls the left rear elevation cylinder.
3. Front elevation control - controls the front elevation cylinder when the front elevation selector (item 5) is at "Off".
4. Right rear elevation control - controls the right rear elevation cylinder when the right rear elevation selector (item 6) is at "Off".
5. Front elevation selector - selects manual ("Off") or automatic ("Sensor") control of the front elevation cylinder (see page 2-30 for a description of the automatic elevation control modes). When the selector is at "Off", the cylinder is controlled by the operator using the front elevation control (item 3).
6. Rear elevation selector - selects manual ("Off"), elevation sensor ("Right Sensor"), or optional cross slope sensor ("Cross Slope") control of the right rear elevation cylinder. Machines with right/left slope control can also select cross slope sensor control of the left rear elevation cylinder by setting the rear elevation selector at "Cross Slope" and the slope control selectors so they point to the left. See page 2-30 for a description of the automatic elevation control modes. When the selector is at "Off" the cylinder is controlled by the operator using the right rear elevation control (item 4).
7. Moldboard control - controls the moldboard hydraulic cylinders to move the moldboard "Up" or "Down", or keep the moldboard in contact with the grade ("Float").

8. Pressure gauge - shows the hydraulic oil pressure in the auxiliary system, if the selector valve is at "Aux". The normal pressure is 2500 psi.

9. Cross slope selector - sets the cross slope to be maintained by the optional cross slope system.
10. Cross slope indicator - shows the cross slope set in the optional cross slope system.

11. Slope control selectors (optional) - select elevation sensor or cross slope sensor control of the right rear elevation cylinders, or cross slope sensor control of the left rear elevation cylinder. See page 2-30 for a description of the automatic elevation control modes. ALL FOUR SELECTORS MUST POINT IN THE SAME DIRECTION, OTHERWISE ERRATIC MACHINE RESPONSE MAY OCCUR.
