Be Sure The Tiger Paws Are In Shape For Running!
- 1. Check tires for proper inflation daily before starting operation. If the air pressure in a tire shows a decided drop, check for slow leaks and repair any leaks immediately. Use a clip-on chuck with an air hose long enough to premit you to stand behind the tread when adding air. NEVER STAND BESIDE THE TIRE. THE LOCKING RING AND LOOSE FLANGE COULD FLY OFF OR THE TIRE COULD BLOWOUT CAUSING SERIOUS INJURIES. Be sure the valve cap is screwed on tight.
- 2. Check tires daily before operation for abnormal or uneven wear, indicating mechanical trouble such as a bent axle or misaligned wheel.
- 3. Check daily before operation that all wheel lug nuts are present and tight. Loose or missing wheel lug nuts can cause dangerous wheel shimmy and loss of vehicle control. Tightening wheel lug nuts excessively can cause dangerous stud breakage.
- 4. Check wheels daily before operation for fatigue cracks. Replace if cracked, badly worn, damaged or severely rusted.
- 5. Never "bleed" tires to relieve "build-up" of pressure. Tire design recognizes that the tire temperature will increase when the tire is in service and allows for the normal "build-up" of air pressure. Tire temperature and air pressure will remain within limits not harmful to the tire when used in accordance with the recommendations for load and air pressure.
- 6. Never reinflate a tire that has been run flat without first inspecting the tire and wheel.
- 7. Never attempt to seat rings by hammering while the tire is inflated. Never hammer on an inflated or partially inflated tire/rim assembly. The locking ring and loose flange could fly off and cause serious injuries.
- 8. Never attempt to weld on an inflated tire and wheel assembly. The locking ring and loose flange could fly off and cause serious injuries.
- 9. Regardless of how hard or firm the ground appears always put hardwood blocks under the jack when changing a tire.
- 10. Block the tires and wheels on the other side of the vehicle before you place the jack in position. Always crib the vehicle with blocks, just in case the jack slips.
- 11. Always exhaust all air from the tire prior to removing wheel lug nuts. Remove the valve core and exhaust all air from the tire then check the valve stem by running a piece of wire through the stem to make sure it is not plugged.
- 12. When using a cable or chain sling to lift a tire and wheel, stand clear. The cable or chain might snap and lash out.
- 13. Mount the rear tires with the locking ring and loose flange toward the machine. If the locking ring and loose flange should come loose they will hit the machine.
