Preparing The Machine For Roading
To prepare the machine for roading:
- 1. Adjust the width of the screed as necessary for the terrain to be traveled.

NOTICE REMOVE EITHER THE TOW POINT PINS OR THE TOW POINT CYLINDER PINS BEFORE RAISING THE SCREED OR DAMAGE MAY RESULT.
- 2. Raise the screed and install the screed lift safety links.
- 3. Install any required flags, signals or lights.
- 4. Set the console selector switch to the desired console.

Roading The Machine
- 1. Start the engine as described on pages 4-2 and 4-3.

- 2. After the water temperature gauge has begun to rise, set the speed range selector switch to the desired range and set the engine speed switch at "Fast".
- 3. Check that the travel speed control is at neutral, then depress the brake pedal and move the park brake switch to "Off".
- 4. Move the power switch to "Go".
- 5. Slowly release the brake pedal while at the same time moving the travel speed control forward. When the desired speed is reached, release the travel speed control.
To slow or stop the machine:
- 1. Move the travel speed control back until the desired speed is reached or until the control is at neutral. Move the speed range switch to a lower range if necessary.

NOTICE DO NOT MOVE THE TRAVEL SPEED CONTROL FROM ONE TRAVEL DIRECTION TO THE OTHER WITHOUT BRINGING THE MACHINE TO A COMPLETE STOP FIRST.
NOTE: THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS ON SHIFTING UP OR DOWN WHILE THE MACHINE IS IN MOTION, EXCEPT WHEN DOWN SHIFTING FROM SPEED RANGE 3 TO 2. THE MACHINE MUST BE BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE THE SYSTEM WILL SHIFT FROM SPEED RANGE 3 TO 2.
- 2. If additional braking is required, depress the brake pedal.
