- 1. Clean the engine cooling system.
- 2. Check the radiator exterior and service as required.
- 3. Change the hydraulic oil.
- 4. Repack the wheel bearings.
Cleaning The Engine Cooling System

INADVERTENT STARTING OF THE ENGINE COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE, ENGINE COOLANT IS HOT AND UNDER PRESSURE. STEAM CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. DRAIN COOLING SYSTEM ONLY WHEN ENGINE IS STOPPED AND FILLER CAP IS COOL ENOUGH TO TOUCH WITH YOUR HAND. REMOVE THE FILLER CAP SLOWLY TO RELIEVE PRESSURE. |

NOTE: THE RADIATOR CAP, LOWER RADIATOR HOSE, AND THE ENGINE DRAIN PLUGS MUST BE REMOVED TO DRAIN THE COOLING SYSTEM.
Clean the cooling system with a good radiator cleaning compound in accordanc with the instructions on the container. After the cleaning operation, rinse the cooling system thoroughly with fresh water. Then fill the system with soft water, adding a good grade of rust inhibitor or a high boiling point type antifreeze.

Inspect the exterior of the radiator core and, if necessary, clean it with a quality grease solvent such as mineral spirits and compressed air. Do not use fuel oil, kerosene or gasoline. It may be necessary to clean the radiator more frequently if the engine is being operated in extremely dusty or dirty areas.
Changing The Hydraulic Oil
NOTE: IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT NO DIRT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. ANYTIME WORK IS PERFORMED ON THE SYSTEM, THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE MACHINE ADJACENT TO THE PART OF THE SYSTEM TO BE WORKED ON, USE CLEAN TOOLS, CLEAN ANY WORK AREA TO BE USED, USE ONLY LINT-FREE RAGS AND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE PLACE THE MACHINE INDOORS WHILE WORKING ON THE SYSTEM.
- 1. Lower the conveyor so that it is resting on the ground, then shut the engine down.
- 2. Set the battery disconnect switch to "Off".
- 3. Remove all electrical lines from the hydraulic pump motor and then remove the hydraulic lines. Immediately cap or plug all system openings.
- 4. Remove the mounting bolts from the pump assembly and move the assembly to a clean working area.
- 5. Remove the bolts that attach the oil reservoir to the pump and remove the reservoir and O-ring.
- 6. Remove the breather and clean it in clean solvent.
- 7. Thoroughly clean the inside of the reservoir with clean solvent and blow dry or drain dry.
- 8. Remove the filter screen and clean it in clean solvent.
- 9. Reinstall the filter screen and reservoir. Use a new O-ring and lubricate it with clean hydraulic oil before installing it.
- 10. Mount the assembly on the machine and connect the electrical and hydraulic lines.
- 11. Fill the reservoir with new hydraulic oil.
- 12. Install the breather.
- 13. Set the battery disconnect switch to "On", then start the engine and operate the system through at least three full cycles to bleed the system.
- 14. Check the hydraulic oil level and add oil as necessary.
Repacking The Front Wheels
- 1. Block all the wheels except the one to be removed.
- 2. Jack up the wheel that is to be removed and block up the mainframe so the machine cannot fall if the jack slips.
- 3. Remove the valve core and run a piece of wire through the valve stem to be sure it is not plugged.
- 4. Remove the cotter pin and slotted nut.
- 5. Remove the axle bolt and move the wheel away from the caster.
- 6. Remove the washers, bearings and inner race from the hub.
- 7. Thoroughly clean all components.
- 8. Inspect the bearing and race, and replace if necessary.
- 9. Pack the bearing with multipurpose grease conforming to the specification on page 4-1.
- 10. Place the bearing, inner race and two washers in the hub.
- 11. Position the assembly in the caster and install the axle bolt.
- 12. Tighten the nut on the axle bolt, install the cotter pin and spread the ends of the pin.
- 13. Install the valve core and add air to the tire.
Repacking The Rear Wheels
- 1. Block all the wheels except the one to be removed.
- 2. Jack up the wheel that is to be removed and block up the mainframe so the machine cannot fall if the jack slips.
- 3. Remove the valve core and run a piece of wire through the valve stem to be sure it is not plugged.
- 4. Remove the dust cap, cotter pin and slotted nut.
- 5. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the spindle.
- 6. Remove the bearings and seal from the hub and spindle. Throw the seal away.
- 7. Thoroughly clean all components.
- 8. Inspect both bearings and replace if necessary.
- 9. Repack the hub cavity with multipurpose grease conforming to the specification on page 4-1.
- 10. Reassemble the wheel on the spindle, using a new seal. Tighten the slotted nut until there is no drag on the bearings and no end play in the hub, insert the cotter pin through the slotted nut and spindle, then spread the ends of the cotter pin.
- 11. Install the dust cap.
- 12. Install the valve core and add air to the tire.
