Preparing The Machine For Roading
To prepare the machine for roading:
- 1. Adjust the width of the screed as necessary for the terrain to be traveled.

REMOVE EITHER THE TOW POINT PINS OR THE TOW POINT CYLINDER PINS BEFORE RAISING THE SCREED OR DAMAGE MAY RESULT. |
- 2. Raise the screed and install the screed lift links.
- 3. Install any required flags, signals or lights.
- 4. Set the console selector switch to the desired console.
Roading The Machine
- 1. Start the engine as described on pages 4-2 and 4-3.

MOVING THE MACHINE BEFORE ALL PERSONNEL ARE CLEAR OF THE MACHINE COULD CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SOUND THE HORN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE MOVING THE MACHINE. |

- 2. After the water temperature gauge has begun to rise, set the transmission speed selection switch at "Travel", the motor speed selection switch at "Hi" and the engine at full speed.
- 3. Check that the speed selection control is at "Slow", then depress the brake pedal and move the park brake switch to "Off".
- 4. Move the power switch to "Go".
- 5. Slowly release the brake pedal while at the same time moving the speed selection control clockwise. When the desired speed is reached, release the speed selection control.
To slow or stop the machine:
- 1. Move the speed selection control counterclockwise until the desired speed is reached or until the control is at "Slow". Move the motor speed range selection switch to "Lo" if necessary.

DO NOT MOVE THE DIRECTION SELECTOR SWITCH FROM ONE TRAVEL DIRECTION TO THE OTHER WITHOUT BRINGING THE MACHINE TO A COMPLETE STOP FIRST. THE MACHINE MUST BE BROUGHT TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION SPEED RANGES. |
- 2. If additional braking is required, depress the brake pedal.
