Computerized Monitoring System (1) Action lamp (2) Engine start switch (3) Monitoring system display (4) Alert indicators |
In order to check the operation of the Computerized Monitoring System, observe the self test when engine start switch (2) is turned from the OFF position to the ON position.
The Computerized Monitoring System will perform an automatic self test at start-up whenever the engine start switch is turned to the ON position.
Observe the monitoring system display to determine if the Computerized Monitoring System is operating properly as follows:
- Action lamp (1) will come on.
- The action alarm will sound once.
- All alert indicators (4) will flash.
- All bars in each circular bar graph will be illuminated one bar at a time (power up).
- The 4 digit tachometer read-out will display:
- Machine code "19" for two seconds.
- Software version, like "02", for two seconds.
- "8.8.8.8" for the last two seconds.
- Machine code "19" for two seconds.
- "Serv Code" indicator is on for two seconds, then off for two seconds, then back on for the last two seconds.
- Mph/kph/rpm indicator is off for four seconds, then on for two seconds.
If any of the alert indicators, action lamp or read-outs do not appear, or if the gauges do not illuminate, the electrical system must be inspected. Perform all necessary repairs before the engine is started again.
If the above test is completed, turn the engine start switch to the START position.
After you start the engine, observe the monitoring system display. If any alert indicators or action lamps remain on or if the action alarm sounds, stop the engine. Inspect the electrical system and any other machine systems which were indicated. Perform all necessary repairs before the engine is started again.
