Engine Oil Pressure Gauge (1)


Engine Oil Pressure Gauge - The engine oil pressure gauge indicates the engine oil pressure. The pressure reading will be greatest after starting a cold engine. While the engine idles, the engine oil pressure will decrease as the engine warms up. As the engine speed is increased to full load, the engine oil pressure will increase. The engine oil pressure will stabilize.

Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge (2)


Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge - The engine coolant temperature gauge shows the temperature of the engine coolant. If the pointer in the gauge enters the red zone, the coolant temperature is too high. The red zone indicates that the temperature of the coolant is 104 °C (219 °F) or more. If the coolant temperature is too high, reduce the load on the engine. If the temperature does not return to the normal range, stop the machine until the cause of the overheating has been corrected.

Fuel Level Gauge (3)


Fuel Level Gauge - The fuel gauge indicates the amount of fuel that remains in the fuel tank.

Hydraulic Oil Temperature Gauge (4)


Hydraulic Oil Temperature Gauge - The hydraulic oil temperature gauge indicates the temperature of the hydraulic oil. If the pointer in the gauge indicates that the temperature of the oil is more than 88 °C (190 °F), reduce the load on the machine. If the temperature does not return to the normal range, stop the machine until the cause of the overheating is corrected.

Speedometer (5)

Speedometer - The speedometer displays the speed of the machine in FT/MIN or M/MIN.

Indicator for the Gear Position (6)

Indicator for the Gear Position - The indicator for the gear position allows the operator to know the gear that is selected. Gear position 1 is for the paving operation and maneuvering of the machine. Gear position 2 is for traveling of the machine.

Indicator for the Hydraulic Oil Level (7)


Indicator for the Hydraulic Oil Level - The indicator will illuminate when the hydraulic oil level is low.

Indicator for the Left Track Pressure (8)


Indicator for the Left Track Pressure - This indicator will illuminate when the left track pressure drops below normal operating pressure.

Indicator for the Charge Pressure (9)


Indicator for the Charge Pressure - The indicator light will illuminate if the hydraulic oil pressure at any of the hydraulic oil filters is less than the normal operating pressure of 276 kPa (40 psi). Stop the engine and change the hydraulic oil filters if the indicator light is illuminated. Do not operate the machine until the cause of the warning is corrected. Damage can occur if you operate the machine without correcting any problems.

Indicator for the Right Track Pressure (10)


Indicator for the Right Track Pressure - This indicator will illuminate when the right track pressure drops below normal operating pressure.

Indicator for the Charging System (11)


Indicator for the Charging System - The charge indicator will illuminate if the electrical system is not supplying the correct voltage. The charge indicator will illuminate if the battery is not charging.

Note: If the charge indicator is illuminated and the engine is running, see your dealer.

Fault Indicator for the Propel System (12)


Fault Indicator for the Propel System - The fault indicator for the propel system will illuminate when there is a fault within the propel system.

Fault Indicator for the Material Feed (13)


Fault Indicator for the Material Feed - The fault indicator for the material feed will illuminate when there is a fault within the material feed system.

Fault Indicator for the Operator (14)


Fault Indicator for the Operator - The fault indicator for the operator will illuminate when a operation is done out of order.

Fault Indicator for the Auto Burner (15)


Fault Indicator for the Auto Burner - The fault indicator for the auto burner will illuminate when there is a fault within the auto burner system.

Mode Scroll Switch (16)


Mode Scroll Switch - Move the mode scroll switch upward in order to scroll through different readouts. The readouts are displayed on the display for the mode scroll switch (17). The readouts that can be displayed are the engine rpm, the hour meter, and the tamper bar speed.

Selector Switch for the Operator Station (18)


Selector Switch for the Operator Station - Use the selector switch for the operator station in order to select the operator station that will be used.

Implement Lockout Switch (19)


Implement Lockout Switch - Move the implement lockout switch upward in order to lock the implements. Move the implement lockout switch downward in order to unlock the implements.

Hazard Light Switch (20)


Hazard Light Switch - Move the switch forward in order to turn on the hazard lights. Move the switch rearward in order to turn off the hazard lights.

Work Light Switch (21) (If Equipped)


Work Light Switch - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the work lights. Move the switch downward in order to turn off the work lights.

Indicator for the Hazard Lights (22)

Indicator for the Hazard Lights - The indicator for the hazard lights will illuminate when the hazard lights are on.

Roading Light Switch (23) (If Equipped)


Roading Light Switch - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the roading lights. Move the switch downward in order to turn off the roading lights.

Vibratory Controls (24)


Vibratory Controls - This switch turns on the screed vibrators or turns off the screed vibrators. Move the switch upward to the ON position in order to turn on the screed vibrators. Move the switch downward to the OFF position in order to turn off the screed vibrators.

Note: To turn on the screed vibrators from the operator console, the switch in the screed control box must be turned on.

Screed Counterbalance (25)


Screed Counterbalance - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the screed counterbalance. Move the switch downward in order to turn off the screed counterbalance.

Note: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Screed Counterbalance System" for more information on the screed counterbalance.

Switch for the Tamper Bar Control (26)


Switch for the Tamper Bar Control - Move the switch for the tamper bar control upward in order to select the manual mode. Move the switch for the tamper bar control downward in order to select the automatic mode. Move the switch for the tamper bar control to the middle setting in order to turn off the tamper bar.

Lockout Control for the Screed Extension Hydraulic Cylinders (27)


Lockout Control for the Screed Extension Hydraulic Cylinders - When the lockout switch for the screed extension hydraulic cylinders is in the upward 1 position, the operator of the paver and the operator of the screed have control over the screed extension hydraulic cylinders. When the lockout switch for the screed extension hydraulic cylinders is in the downward 2 position, the screed operator is the only person that has control over the screed extension hydraulic cylinders.

Control for the Tamper Bar Speed (28)


Control for the Tamper Bar Speed - Use the control for the tamper bar speed in order to adjust the tamper bar speed. Turn the control for the tamper bar speed clockwise in order to increase the tamper bar speed. Turn the control for the tamper bar speed counterclockwise in order to decrease the tamper bar speed. When the switch for the tamper bar control is in the manual mode, the tamper bar speed is measured in tamps per minute. Turn the control for the tamper bar speed in order to set the desired tamps per minute. When the switch for the tamper bar control is in the automatic mode, the tamper bar speed is measured in tamps per meter. In order to set the tamper bar speed in the automatic mode, set the desired propel speed for the machine. Then turn the control for the tamper bar speed in order to set the desired tamps per meter. The number of tamps per minute will automatically adjust when the propel speed of the machine changes.

Indicator for the Air Inlet Heater (29)


Indicator for the Air Inlet Heater - The air inlet heater is a cold weather starting aid. The indicator for the air inlet heater will illuminate bright red when power is supplied to the air inlet heater. The operation time for the air inlet heater is calculated by the temperature reading from the engine ECM. The light will change from bright red to a dim red and the operator can start the machine. The dim red light will remain on during operation.

Main Power Switch (30)

Main Power Switch - The main power switch is used to control the power supply to the machine.


OFF - To disconnect the electrical power to the engine and the machine, turn the switch counterclockwise to the OFF position.


ON - To supply electrical power to the engine and the machine, turn the switch clockwise to the ON position.

Horn (31)


Horn - The horn button is located on the operator console.

Depress the button for the horn in order to sound the horn. Use the horn in order to alert personnel or signal personnel.
