Introduction

This Special Instruction provides information for the installation of a "Forward/Neutral/Reverse" (FNR) switch that is for the machines that are listed above.

The FNR switch that is discussed in this Special Instruction is an attachment. Therefore, this Special Instruction applies to specific arrangements. Refer to Table 1 for the specific arrangements that this Special Instruction applies to.

303-9566 Rocker Switch

Switch Replacement for the 950H, 962H, 966H, 972H, and the IT62H

Remove the existing 246-2642 Rocker Switch that is located in implement pod.

Cut the following wires off as close as possible to the back of the 10 pin switch connector that is on the implement pod harness:
- 202-BK
- G788-YL
- P915-PK
- G787-GN
Note: There are two wires that are labeled 202-BK, either wire can be cut.

Leave the rest of the wires in the connector that is for the switch. Install a 228-6089 Plug in the 10 pin connector that is for the switch.

Install four 9X-3402 Deutsch (DT)Type Sockets on the four wires that were disconnected in Step 2.
Deutsch (DT)Type Sockets .

Install the four wires into the four pin Deutsch connector as follows:
1. Install wire 202-BK into position 1.
1. Install wire G788-YL into position 2.
1. Install wire P915-PK into position 3.
1. Install wire G787-GN into position 4.
  Note: Tug on each wire in order to make sure that the connector socket is locked into the connector.

Install the replacement 303-9566 Rocker Switch (FNR switch) into the implement pod. Connect the connector that is for the switch to pod harness.

Determine the version of software that is currently installed for the transmission. If needed, flash the transmission 262-1408 Electronic Control Module (ECM) with either 306-4053 Software Gp for Power train software or newer.

Use AVSpare Electronic Technician (ET) in order to configure the second direction switch status as "Type 1".

Check for proper operation of the FNR switch.

Switch Replacement for the 950GII, 962GII, 966GII, and the 972GII

Remove the existing 246-2642 Rocker Switch that is located in implement pod.

Cut the following wires off as close as possible to the back of the 10 pin switch connector that is on the implement pod harness:
- 962-OR
- G788-YL
- P916-OR
- G787-GN

Leave the rest of the wires in the connector that are for the switch. Install a 228-6089 Plug in to the 10 pin connector that is for the switch.

Install four 9X-3402 Deutsch (DT) Type Sockets on the four wires that were disconnected in Step 2.

Install the four wires into the four pin Deutsch connector as follows:
1. Install wire 962-OR into position 1.
1. Install wire G787-GN into position 2.
1. Install wire P916-OR into position 3.
1. Install wire G788-YL into position 4.
  Note: Tug on each wire in order to make sure that the connector socket is locked into the connector.
