Introduction

This Special Instruction contains the procedure to reroute the harness for the pressure sensor for the saw pump. Rerouting this harness will eliminate interference between the harness and the hood of the machine. This will extend the service life of the harness and the pressure sensor.

Do not perform any procedure in this publication or order any parts until you understand the information that is contained in this publication.

    (B) 9 mm (0.4 inch)

    (C) 28.3 mm (1.11 inch)

    (D) 185.3 mm (7.30 inch)

  1. Drill two holes in the mounting plate for the fuel filter. The upper hole (3) has a diameter of 13.8 mm (0.54 inch). The upper hole is located 185.3 mm (7.30 inch) from the bottom edge of the plate and 12 mm (0.5 inch) from the side of the plate. The lower hole (4) has a diameter of 11.0 mm (0.43 inch). The lower hole is located 28.3 mm (1.11 inch) from the bottom edge of the plate and 9 mm (0.4 inch) from the side of the plate. Refer to Illustration 2.

    (9) 9L-1775 Bracket

  1. Bolt three 130-5300 Clips (5) to 9L-1775 Bracket (9). Orient two of the clips in the upward direction. Orient one clip in the downward direction. Use one 8T-4136 Bolt (6), two 8T-4121 Hard Washers (7), and one 8T-4133 Nut (8) in order to bolt the clips to the bracket. Refer to Illustration 3.

    (13) New location for harness connectors

    (14) Old location for connector for pressure sensor

  1. Disconnect the harness. Reroute the harness behind the filter for the fuel pump and the fuel filter. Use one 033-8248 Clip (11), one 8T-4121 Hard Washer (7), one 8T-4133 Nut (8) and one 7K-1181 Cable Strap (10) in order to secure the harness to the plate. Refer to Illustration 5 and Illustration 6.

  1. Attach the connectors on the ends of the harness to the clips that are bolted to the 9L-1775 Bracket .

  1. Reroute the wires for the solenoid for the saw pump, the arc suppressor, and the pressure sensor for the saw pump to the connectors at the new mounting location.

Note: The solenoid may need to be rotated in order to provide enough length for proper routing. Loosen the nut on the solenoid. Rotate the coil in order to obtain enough length. Tighten the nut. The maximum torque for the nut is 9.0 ± 0.5 N·m (80 ± 4 lb in).

  1. Use a 7K-1181 Cable Strap in order to secure the wires for the solenoid for the saw pump, the arc suppressor, and the pressure sensor for the saw pump to the lower hole that was drilled in Step 1.
