The existing input transfer case assembly can develop cracks on certain 793F, 793F CMD, and 793F XQ Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing input transfer case assembly cracks, it can cause oil to leak and the transmission to be inoperable. In some cases, the input transfer case assembly can catastrophically fail causing severe damage to internal components. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 1% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer.
|
Please use this service letter if the input transfer case assembly was damaged after a driveshaft, universal joint, and/or tie rod failure. If a crack is found on the input transfer case assembly or damage to the case assembly that does not result in damage to the internal bearings or transfer gears, then replace with the improved 279-2531 Input Transfer Case Assembly along with the necessary supplemental parts. Please use KENR8397 for Disassembly and Assembly instructions. To claim the 561-2752 Transfer Gear Kit, please provide photographic evidence of catastrophic damage to the transfer gears and internal bearings with machine and part hours. Please see Image 1 for an example of a catastrophic failure, which entails damaged transfer gears beyond salvage.
