This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS46535" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

ACTION REQUIRED

Refer to the attached Rework Procedure for the Affected Product shown above.

Refer to Image 1 below for a list of AVSpare Product that have a Product Link PLE641 Cellular radio system or PLE631 Sat system radio system installed. If a product in question is on the list, this program applies. Follow the Parts Needed, Service Claim Allowances, and Rework Procedure associated with Group 1.

Refer to Image 2 below for a list of AVSpare Product that have a Product Link PL641 Cellular radio system or PL631 Sat radio system installed. If a product in question is on the list, this program applies. Follow the Parts Needed, Service Claim Allowances, and Rework Procedure associated with Group 3.

NOTE: For product in in Image 1 and Image 2, file the warranty claim using 99Z00015 as the serial number. Ensure that the Machine Make, Machine Model, and Machine Serial Number are included in the Service Letter claim story. Failure to provide this information in the claim story will result in the claim getting rejected.

Rework Procedure

Before going to the Customer Site:

1. Refer to Publication REHS8850 Installation Procedure for the Elite Product Link TM PLE601, PLE641, and PLE631 Systems, section ?Device Swap? for all instructions required to perform the device change, as well as familiarity with the process.

Note: Suggest printing the work instructions before leaving the dealership to use as a reference when performing the upgrade at the engine system.

2. Download required firmware from SIS Web as shown in "Parts Needed" section above or latest available on SIS Web.

3. Identify current configuration files on the Engine System. Then write replacement single config file to meet application requirements for installation on the device after upgrade.

Note: Guides for writing config files are found in publication REHS8850, M0091831, and M0092858.

4. Work with your Product Link Administrator to identify which User Interface and subscription will be selected for the device. (Remote Fleet Vision, Remote Asset Monitoring, VisionLink, or My.Cat.com.)

Note: PL Web will no longer be available as of 31-Dec-2019 and is not an option after the upgrade is performed.

At Engine system:

5. Using a Comm 3 Adapter connect to the Engine?s Service Port and start Cat ET. Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) 2019A or later must be used.

6. Download a Product Status Report and store on your computer.
a) Make note of the Service Meter Hours.

7. Open Service Dashboard and record Network Manager Port settings.

8. Set the Serial Number to AVS00000 prior to removing the CR box.

9. Ensure the Engine power is off, and the battery disconnect is open or Battery post removed.

10. Replace the PLE601 Network Manager as outlined in Publication REHS8850, section ?Device Swap?

11. Turn the asset?s Key Switch on and reconnect Cat ET.

12. Flash firmware as shown in "Parts Needed" to Network Manager and Radio. Refer to Publication REHS8850 for flash instructions.

13. Reset the engine system to previous status
a) Set Prime product ID
b) Reset any digital switches if necessary (Refer to PSR for switch status)
c) Configure network manager port settings.
d) Upload previously created single config file.

14. Please complete a successful communication check before releasing the engine system to the customer.

15. Connect to the engine system using Cat ET and take a Product Status Report (PSR).

16. Contact your Product Link Administrator to subscribe the device to one of the following available options: Remote Fleet Vision, Remote Asset Monitoring, VisionLink, or My.Cat.com.

Note: If issues occur and devices does not communicate refer to UENR5823 Troubleshooting section or contact the Product Link Hardware Support Hotline. Dial the DSN phone number at 309-636-8500 (Americas - North & South), 65-6828-7080 (EAME, APD), 61-738-03-8160 (Australia) 44-33-40-3660 (India) and select Prompt #2.

7. Install the PLE601 Network Manager Field Install Kit (463-1181) as outlined in Publication REHS8850, section ?Device Upgrade.?

NOTE: Find space to mount PLE601 Network Manager on the Engine System. Refer to prime product engine schematic for mounting location (if available). If space is not identified mount PLE601 Network Manager near the Radio so that the radio harness can connect to the new Network Manager harness.

NOTE: If digital switches are employed, digital switches wires will need to be removed from the 8-pin plug at the radio and transferred pin for pin to the 8-pin plug supplied in the parts list. Fill the remaining unused pins with the supplied seal plugs. Then plug the 8-pin plug into the radio 8-pin receptacle.

8. Turn the asset?s Key Switch on and reconnect Cat ET.

9. Flash firmware as shown in "Parts Needed" to Network Manager and Radio. Refer to REHS8850 for flash instructions.

10. Reset the engine system to previous status:
a) Set Prime product ID
b) Reset any digital switches if necessary (Refer to PSR for switch status)

NOTE: The switches previously 1-4 will now be 5-8 for Cellular devices or 9-12 for Satellite devices.

11. Please complete a successful communication check before releasing the engine system to the customer.

12. Connect to the engine system using Cat ET and take a Product Status Report (PSR).

13. Per instructions in Publication REHS8850 section ?Configure Network Manager Port settings,? and using offline config tool, create/upload single config file to fit the application if necessary.

14. Contact your Product Link Administrator to subscribe the device to one of the following available options: Remote Fleet Vision, Remote Asset Monitoring, VisionLink, or My.Cat.com.
