PROBLEM
The existing (271-2105, 338-5365) sensors used on 793F Command and Command ready Off-Highway Trucks may fail resulting in steering position sensor malfunction event codes that can cause the truck to stop during autonomous operation. The sensors have been replaced by an improved sensor that no longer requires a trim file calibration and has improved internal components, which will reduce failures. |

In order to allow equitable parts availability to all participating dealers, please limit your initial parts order to not exceed 29% of dealership population. This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Rework all 271-2080 and 334-6985 Cylinder Groups in dealer parts stock and/or dealer exchange inventory. The following are the parts required for the update per cylinder. |
This program is intended to be implemented at PCR. At PCR, update both cylinders to use the improved sensor. Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary and see Reuse and Salvage Guideline M0107662 to update the cylinders. NOTE: All parts listed in the Parts Needed are required to update the cylinders. At PCR the parts with ?Note A? in the description are not claimable since they are being replaced as part of the normal component rebuild. In the event that there is a failure before PCR, both cylinders need to be reworked at the same time. All parts are allowed if there is a failure before PCR. Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary and see Reuse and Salvage Guideline M0107662 to update the cylinders. |
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all 271-2080 and all 334-6985 Cylinder Groups that are reworked in dealer parts stock and/or dealer exchange inventory. The following are the parts required for the update per cylinder. |
0-30 mo |

NOTE: This is a 0.0-hour job | ||||||
If there has been a previous repair, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim. This program is intended to be implemented at PCR (expected 15,000-20,000 hours), so no labor will be allowed at PCR or before failure. If there is a failure, both cylinders must be rebuilt. AVSpare will pay 29 hours of labor to rebuild both cylinders. For these after failure repairs, dealers must upload a recent product status report showing valid steering events. Note A: These parts are required, but are not covered at PCR. |
