NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS46727" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing bolt on the steering axle can loosen on certain MH3022, MH3024, and MH3026 Material Handlers. If the existing bolt loosens, it can come out of the axle. |

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |

Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section". Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary. |
1. Measure distance (X) between the flag of pin and the bushing. Refer to Image1.2.1. |

2. If the 8T-5460 Bolt is still engaged, complete the steps below: A. Press the pin fully into the joint, if needed. B. Replace the existing 8T-5460 Bolt with a new 8T-5460 Bolt. Apply Loctite 243 to the bolt and tighten the bolt to a specified torque of 325 +/- 40 N.m (240 +/- 30 lb.ft). |
3. If 8T-5460 Bolt is missing, and dimension 'X' is LESS THAN 40mm: A. Press the pin fully into the joint, if needed. B. Install new 8T-5460 Bolts. Apply Loctite 243 to the bolt and tighten the bolts to a specified torque of 325 +/- 40 N.m (240 +/- 30 lb.ft). |
4. If the 8T-5460 Bolt is missing, and dimension 'X' is EQUAL TO or GREATER THAN 40mm: A. Remove the axle. Refer to UENR6143, Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle ? Remove and Install ? Front Axle", for additional information. B. Check the pin, frame bores, and axle for damage. The bores should have a diameter of 70.20 +/- 0.05mm. C. If no damage is found, reinstall the axle. Refer to UENR6143, Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle ? Remove and Install ? Front Axle", for additional information. Use Loctite 243 on the bolt, and tighten the bolt to a specified torque of 325 +/- 40 N.m (240 +/- 30 lb.ft). D. If damage is found on the frame or axle, please contact your Tech Communicator to submit a DSN ? Product Health service request (SR) through PSCRM with the workgroup / subsystem as base machine. Also, enter the CPI number #459458 in the CPI field and the Service letter media number in the description. |
