PROBLEM
The existing generator group on certain 794 AC, 796 AC, and 798 AC Off-Highway Trucks can have coupling bolts improperly tightened which can cause wear on the generator rotor shaft. If the generator rotor shaft has wear it will stop the machine, lose propel, and the generator will have to be replaced. |

This is an initial order recommendation only, and the ultimate responsibility for ordering the total number of parts needed to satisfy the program lies with the dealer. |
ACTION REQUIRED
If the generator shaft is found to be damaged via a coupling bolt torque inspection then this letter is to be applied to cover the generator replacement. Replace the failed 390-2000 Generator with a Reman 20R-6359 Generator. Refer to service literature if/as necessary. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly UENR2270, Power Generator - Remove and Install. Refer to Service Magazine M0095652 "An Improved Sealed Coupling Group is Now Used on Certain 794 AC Off-Highway Trucks." |
