PROBLEM
Certain 419-9162 and 419-9172 Primary Air Filter Elements were manufactured incorrectly without enough urethane at the top of the filter element. Refer to Image1. If these elements are used it can allow dust to bypass the air filter element and be ingested into the engine causing premature wear and/or engine damage. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 419-9162 and 419-9172 Primary Air Filter Elements in dealer parts stock. Measure the thickness of the urethane top seal at four places as shown in Image2. Also, measure any places where the urethane looks like the urethane top seal may be less than 12mm. If any of the measurements are below 12mm, then remove the element from dealer parts stock. If all measurements are 12mm or more Image3, then mark the element packaging as inspected per this program and place the element back into dealer parts stock. Element packaging that has a green or a blue dot by the part number label as shown in Image4 has already been inspected and is acceptable to use without inspecting. Element packaging that has "United States" and has a date code of April 2, 2020, or later by the part number label as shown in Image5 has already been inspected and is acceptable to use without inspecting. Element packaging that has "Australia" and has a date code of April 21, 2020, or later by the part number label as shown in Image6 has already been inspected and are acceptable to use without inspecting. |
