NOTE: | This Containment Program can be administered either before or after a failure occurs. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim. |
NOTE: | When reporting the repair, use "PS91084" as the Part Number and "7777" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as Warranty Claim Description and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
Certain 24M Motor Grader equipped with C18 engines, with the 460-7645 Fuel Hose, have the potential of the fuel hose being installed with the filter return fitting at an incorrect orientation, which may lead to a fitting failure due to fatigue. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Step 1. Inspect the engine return fuel hose a. Document and photo the fuel hose label. b. Document and photo the orientation of the filter return elbow fitting. Refer to Image#1 for correct orientation, Image#2 for incorrect orientation. ONLY IF the 460-7645 Fuel Hose is installed, proceed to Step 2. Step 2.Remove the existing 460-7645 Return Fuel Hose by loosening the straight fitting at the rear of the cylinder head and the elbow fitting at the fuel filter, then remove the bolt, washer, clips and grommet. Retain the bolt, washer, clips and grommet. Replace as required. Step 3. Install the new (1) 256-2211 Fuel Hose and (2) 6K-9194 Adapter Elbow. For the correct installation and orientation of the Fuel Hose and Adapter Elbow, refer to Images #3 through to #7. Step 4. Document and photo the orientation of the newly installed 256-2211 Fuel Hose. |
