| Replace a PL240 with a PL243 Before going to the Customer Site: 1. Refer to M0098124 Installation Instructions for all tools to perform the radio installation, as well as familiarity with the installation process. At the machine: Note: The PL243 can be installed using the same 4-wire installation method that was used on the PL240 installation. 2. The following table provides a comparison of the wiring on the PL240 cellular radio to the wiring on the PL243 cellular radio . |

| 3. Document the asset Service Meter Hours (SMH) for setting SMH on the new device. 4. Power down asset and switch master disconnect to -OFF-. Refer to applicable safety instructions in M0098124. 5. Disconnect all PL240 wires and remove it from the machine. Note: Upon removal and canceling the subscription, dispose of the PL240 following local guidelines. 6. Mount the PL243 on the asset. Refer to -Mounting the Radio- in Special Instruction M0098124 for mounting instructions. 7. Locate the wires that were used for the PL240 per reference Image 1.1.1. Utilize optional extension harness 591-5058 if needed. 8. Use the 3-position Plug Assy, 155-2260, and the 6-position Plug Assy, 155-2274, for connecting to the PL243. 9. Insert the +Battery wire into location A of the 3-position plug. 10. Insert the -Battery wire into location B of the 3-position plug. 11. Insert the Key Switch Power wire into location C of the 3-position plug. 12. Insert the Engine Running signal wire into location 5 of the 6-position plug. Note: If desired, an Alternator R-Terminal signal can be used as an Engine Running input on the PL243 . |
