PROBLEM
The existing 8X-7948 Axle Shaft needs to be inspected on certain 777E Off-Highway Trucks. The existing 8X-7948 Axle Shaft can fracture from the spline area of the axle shaft at the differential end. If the existing axle shaft fails, it can cause additional resultant damage and unplanned machine downtime. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Remove all the affected 8X-7948 Axle Shafts from dealer parts stock. Refer to Image1 for the affected shaft serial numbers. |
Remove the existing 8X-7948 Axle Shaft (Right Hand Side) from the machine and check the serial number on the axle shaft. The serial number identification on the axle shaft is marked at the differential end. Refer to Image2. If the serial number noticed is in the affected serial number list mentioned in Image1, replace the axle shaft with new one. Ensure that the axle shaft used for replacement is NOT in the affected serial number list. Document the serial number identified on the shaft when inspection is done and add it in claim report. Refer to UENR7316, Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install", to remove and install the axle shaft. |

Note: An additional 40.0 hours are allowed for an After failure repair. 306 Liters of FDAO Oil is allowed. Replacement of resultant damage parts are allowed. Attach the failure report with the pictures of the failed parts in SIMSi claim. |
