PROBLEM
The engine and transmission ECM software needs to be updated on certain PM620 Cold Planers. The new software contains a new transmission configuration setting that will slow the engine speed ramp up from low idle to high idle in order to reduce engine smoke during the ramp up. This update only affects models that are located in China and built after 01DEC18. |

ACTION REQUIRED
IMPORTANT: The propel pressure monitoring system must have been previously updated per Special Instruction M0115605 "Procedure to Install Updated Propel Pump Wiring Harnesses and Pressure Sensors On Certain Cold Planers". Install 5951779 Engine Software. Install 5982772 Transmission Software. Set the Engine Smoke Reduction Enable Status to ENABLED in the transmission configuration settings. NOTE: If performing this update prior to JUNE2020 release of ET, a beta version of ET will be required in order to view and change the new configuration. Please contact your Paving Technical Rep for assistance. Verify all other machine configuration settings are per the machine physical build. (i.e. folding conveyor, conveyor swing release, high pressure water pump, etc) Test for proper operation of the machine. |
