SUBJECT: INTERFERENCE BETWEEN THE LIFT ARMS AND CERTAIN WORK TOOLS
PROBLEM:
Reports are being received of interference between Skid Steer Loader (SSL) and Multi Terrain Loader (MTL) lift arms and certain work tools. At this time, the problem appears to be related only to alpha XR machines (232, 242, and 257), using industrial grapple buckets and BH30 backhoe work tools.
The industrial grapple buckets are interfering with the machine?s lift arms when the bucket is in the full rackback position. The interference is taking place at the hydraulic lines guard that is across the back of the work tool. Interference with the grapple cylinder guard is also possible when the grapple assemblies are open and the work tool is in the full rackback position.
The BH30 backhoe work tool may be limited in rackback due to the geometry of the machine?s lift arms. Thus, on some units, it may appear that the BH30 latch arms are too short, not allowing the work tool to properly attach to the machine.
SOLUTION:
In order to help determine the extent of this problem, dealers who experience interference between the alpha XR lift arms and these work tools are requested to call BCP Work Tool Product Support to report the problem and to receive instructions.
