SUBJECT: A LEVEL SWITCH (HYDRAULIC OIL) CAN BE ADDED TO THE HYDRAULIC TANK.

PROBLEM: The implement pump may fail because the machine is run without hydraulic oil. A hydraulic delimber attachment may allow the hydraulic tank to drain without the operator becoming aware of the situation.

SOLUTION: A level switch (hydraulic oil) can be added to the hydraulic tank and wired parallel to the sender (engine oil pressure). The level switch will activate both the action light and the action alarm. The operator will have to determine if the engine oil pressure is low or the hydraulic oil level is low.

Use the following instructions for installing a level switch (hydraulic oil).

3G-5968

Level Switch

Modify the 3G-5968 Level Switch by shortening the switch by approximently 9 inches. Install the switch in the top of the hydraulic tank.

Connect the switch to the H415-E18 wire (low engine oil pressure).

Check the operation of the switch when the tank is just below the minimum oil level. The 3G-5968 Level Switch should close. The action light and the action alarm will activate.
