SUBJECT: Incorrect Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve for the Piston Pump (Steering) Is Shown in the Parts Book

PROBLEM:

Parts Manual, SEBP3135, "735 Articulated Truck", calls out the incorrect pressure and flow compensator valve to be used on the 153-7020 Piston Pump for the steering system.

Early Copies of the parts manual call out the 184-5174 Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve. This is incorrect.

SOLUTION:

The parts information on SIS Web has been corrected. Paper copies of Parts Manual, SEBP3135, "735 Articulated Truck", need to be amended to contain the correct information.

The correct pressure and flow compensator valve for use with the 153-7020 Piston Pump for the steering system on 735(AWR1-460) has the part number 184-5173.

The correct pressure and flow compensator valve for use with the 224-4431 Piston Pump for the steering system on 735(AWR461-up) has the part number 184-5174.

The information is summarized in the following table.

735 Articulated Truck

Piston Pump

Pressure Flow and Compensator Valve

AWR1-460

153-7020

184-5173

AWR461-UP

224-4431

184-5174

The 184-5174 Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve was not fitted on any 153-7020 Piston Pumps during production.

If it is suspected that a 184-5174 Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve has been fitted as a service repair on machines 735(AWR1-460), then conduct a visual check of pressure and flow compensator valve. A 184-5174 Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve can be identified by the marking 924486 on the body of the valve. If this is found, replace with the correct 184-5173 Pressure and Flow Compensator Valve.
