SUBJECT: Weak or Insufficient Welds Have Occurred in the 147-3417 Mount Assembly
PROBLEM:
Due to weak or insufficient welds, the 147-3417 Mount Assembly may not be strong enough to handle the stress created by the overhead mounting of the CAES Display. At the time of assembly, some 147-3417 Mount Assemblies were made with weak or inconsistent weld joints. Because of these weak or inconsistent weld joints, the 147-3417 Mount Assembly may develop cracks or may have the potential to break.
SOLUTION:
- Inspect the 147-3417 Mount Assembly.
- Ensure that the welds on the 147-3417 Mount Assembly are complete at the locations shown in Illustrations 1 through 3.
- If any welds are missing, in the wrong location, or cracked, clean the weld surface and correct the weld.
- After repairing the weld, paint the weld surface with gloss paint to protect the surface from rust.
Note: All welds should be 3mm (0.12 inch) continuous fillet welds.
