SUBJECT: Cracks in the 107-8611 Solenoid Cartridge Assemblies

PROBLEM:

Cracks have been found in the 107-8611 cartridge assembly that may cause the solenoid spool valve assembly to malfunction. This cartridge assembly is part of the 144-6292, 147-5399, 160-0270, 193-8559, 201-1550 and 226-9467 solenoid spool valve assemblies. These valve assemblies are used in many Off Highway Trucks, Wheel Tractor Scrapers, Wheel Loaders, D-11 Tractors, Motor Graders, Articulated Trucks, Underground Articulated Trucks and Load, Haul, Dump transmission/torque converter control groups. Solenoid cartridges with the date codes 0340 through 0349 are suspect.

SOLUTION:

Locate the date code on the hex portion of the cartridge assembly (see illustration). A program will be released soon to remove stock from dealer inventories.
