SUBJECT: Air Filter Fouling on Panel

PROBLEM:

Illustration 1

Illustration 2

224-1128 Panel (1) on the right side of the cab, on the listed machines, has a slot for the air filter that is incorrectly sized. See Illustration 1. Some machines have experienced problems during the removal of the air filter.

SOLUTION:

In order to aid removal of the air filter, open out the slot on the right side a distance (A) that is sufficient to allow the removal of the air filter. See dimension A in Illustration 2.

The panel is made from a fiberglass material. Wear suitable protective equipment when cutting the panel. Wear full body protection including an overall that will not allow fiberglass penetration, rubber gloves that are long enough to cover your sleeves, boots that allow your overall to be tucked in at the ankles and full head cover. This will protect you from skin irritation due to fiberglass particles. Wear a respirator that provides fresh air and use a shop vacuum to remove cuttings and dust.
