SUBJECT: NEW ENGINE SOFTWARE FLASH FILES ARE NOW AVAILABLE TO ALLEVIATE UNKNOWN OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING INDIAVSIONS

PROBLEM:

Field reports from wheel loaders indicate that the engine oil pressure light/alarms that use the 216-3448 Pressure Sensor?GP are on, even though the oil pressure is within specifications. Recall of the parts and evaluation of the sensors have failed to identify any defects.

SOLUTION:

Newly released software flash files for the 3056E Engine installed in wheel loaders will alleviate the problem of low pressure warning indicators staying on continually. Should the machine have an actual oil pressure problem such as an internal oil leak, this will change the machine indication to a low oil pressure "blink". If the problem worsens, the blink will become more frequent or stay on for longer periods of time. It is at this stage that further engine (mechanical) investigation is required. See the chart below for the required software flash files to reprogram the engine ECM at the next available opportunity.
