When assembling the 9EQ4195 Brake Group, 8M-6541 Seal (2) may be damaged by beveled corner (1) of axle housing (3).

SOLUTION:

Front and rear axle housings (3) can be modified during a repair or rebuild by machining a radius on the existing bevel. Refer to Table 1 for the front and rear axle housing part numbers.

R1600G 9PP139-Up will have the modified axle housings installed from the factory and retain the same part numbers.

The axle housings in Table 1 can be modified. Refer to Figure 2 for the machining details.

Deburr all sharp edges and ports (D) prior to assembly of the 9EQ4195 Brake Group.

Note: Do not pack grease behind 8M-6541 Seal (2) when installing to the parking brake piston. Refer to Figure 1.
