SUBJECT: The Quick Coupler Will Not Fit Buckets or worktools ON CERTAIN BACKHOE LOADERS

PROBLEM:

Quick Coupler Gp (222-7464) does not fit some buckets or work tools. The hook may bind before the pin can be locked into the bucket and the coupler.

SOLUTION:

Check the dimensions of the hook and inspect the surface of the hook?s flat surface. See figure 1 for the proper dimensions of the hook and block of the Pin Lock Coulper. Remove material from the specified locations shown in figure 1 if the overall width is less than 118mm (4.65in).

 

Inspect the surface finish of the hook?s flat surface. The surface should have a machined finish. See figure 2 for a example of the correct surface finish. In some instances a finishing operation may be required if the surface finish is similar to figure 3.
