SUBJECT: HYSTAT PUMP RETURN HOSE FAILURE ON CERTAIN SKID STEER LOADERS AND MULTI TERRAIN LOADERS

PROBLEM:

Failure of the hystat pump return hose may result from excessive pressure in the return circuit due to the restriction of oil flow in the oil cooler lines. A restriction can occur if the oil cooler lines are being kinked or compressed against the firewall when the cooling package is shut.

SOLUTION:

Check to ensure that the oil cooler lines are not kinked or compressed against the firewall when the cooling package is shut. Reposition the oil cooler lines so that the cooler lines are not being kinked or compressed when the cooling package is shut. See Figure 1.

Inspect the hystat pump return hose. If needed, replace the hose with the hose that is specified in Table 1 for your machine. See Figure 2.
