SUBJECT: Software Update for AccuGrade Valve Control Module

PROBLEM:

The 269-2113 Software Group used on current Cross Slope, Sonic, or Laser AccuGrade Grade Control Systems does not provide a diagnostic clock for the Implement and Valve Control Module on all models. The current gear and direction information is not provided for the 14H and 16H machines. The lack of gear and direction information can cause the single GPS AccuGrade System to incorrectly display the machine direction on the CD550A display. This could result in the machine not working to the programmed design.

SOLUTION:

Flash the 283-2365 Software Group in the AccuGrade Grade Control Module via AVSpare Electronic Technician (ET). The new software has been enhanced to include the Diagnostic Clock and current gear and directional information for all models. Use the following procedure to configure the AccuGrade system after flashing the software.

Procedure:

    1. Connect the 7X-1425 Data Link Cable As between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter Gp and AVS ET.
    2. Connect the 139-4166 Data Link Cable As between the 7X-1700 Communication Adapter Gp and the diagnostic connector of the machine.
    3. Turn the Key Start switch to the "On" position.
    4. Open up the AVS ET software and select "Grade/Slope Control".
