Oil flows from the torque converter oil cooler to inlet (10). The oil flows through passage (9) to oil chamber (11). The flow of oil divides. Part of the oil flows through passages in manifold (4) to clutch (8). The remainder of the oil flows through passage (13).

Oil to clutch (8) flows through the holes in ring gear (6) in order to lubricate the discs and the plates. Oil also flows to planetary shafts (7). This oil flows through holes in the shafts to the bearings of the planetary gears. Oil is also allowed to flow to the rear bearing of the transmission.

Oil in passage (13) flows to the front of the transmission. Passage (13) is a series of passages in the different clutch housings that are in alignment. Oil flows through passage (13) to chamber (16) between housing (1) and carrier (18). The flow of oil divides. Part of the oil flows through passage (19) and the rear of the transmission.

Oil flows through passage (19) to the input transfer gears. Return oil from the input transfer gears flows to the bottom of the transfer case. This oil then flows through the transmission case to the main oil reservoir in the output transfer gear case.

Most of the oil from chamber (16) flows to planetary shafts (15). Holes in shafts (15) allow oil to flow to the bearings of the No. 1 planetary gears. Oil flows out of the holes in the ends of shafts (15) to planetary shafts (14). Holes in shafts (14) allow oil to flow to the bearings of the No. 2 and No. 3 planetary gears.

Oil flows out of the holes in the ends of shafts (14) to planetary shafts (3). Holes in shafts (14) allow oil to flow to the bearing of the No. 4 planetary gears. Oil flows out of the holes in shafts (15) to carrier (12). Oil flows through the holes in carrier (12). Oil flows through the holes in ring gear (5) to the discs and the plates of the No. 5 clutch. At the same time, oil flows through passages to the discs and plates of the No. 2 and the No. 4 clutches.

All return lubrication oil flows to the bottom of the transmission case. This oil is then allowed to drain to the reservoir.
