The proportional type remote control system is installed on Load Haul Dump machines. There may be some variation between this standard configuration and a customer driven modification to the remote control system. For further information on modified or other types of systems, contact your AVSpare Dealer.
Note: The remote control system controls components that are part of the machine electrical, hydraulic, steering, braking and power train systems.
ReferenceFor more information on the remote control components, refer to the manufacturers information.
ReferenceFor more information on the machine system, refer to the relevant machine systems section of the machine Service Manual.

(4) Transmitter (typical example) (5) Battery |
The remote control system is made up of the following components; interface control module (1), receiver (2), steering and bucket control valve (3), transmitter (4), and the machine electrical and hydraulic components.
Transmitter (4) is used by the operator to control machine functions by remote control. Transmitter (4) sends radio signals to receiver (2) .
Transmitter (4) is powered by battery (5). All other components in the remote control system are powered by the machine electrical system.

(1) Interface control module (2) Receiver |
Interface control module (1) and receiver (2) are located above the hydraulic tank.
Receiver (2) interprets the radio signals from transmitter (4). Receiver (2) sends an electrical signal or a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) electrical signal for each remote control function to a corresponding relay in interface control module (1).

(1) Interface control module (typical example) |
Interface control module (1) contains a relay for each remote control function. Interface control module (1) has two types of outputs; electrical signals and PWM electrical signals.
The electrical signal will switch the power to the corresponding machine electrical circuits.
The PWM electrical signals are sent directly to the solenoid valves mounted on steering and bucket control valve (3). Also the PWM electrical signal is sent to the Engine Electronic Control Module (ECM) for the throttle control.

(3) Steering and bucket control valve (6) Solenoid control valves |
Steering and bucket control valve (3) is located beside the operator station door in the articulation hitch area of the machine.
Steering and bucket control valve (3) contains six solenoid control valves (6). Solenoid control valves (6) control the steering and bucket functions. Solenoid control valves (6) operate proportionally.

(7) Remote control indicator light (green - if equipped) (8) Remote control parking brake indicator light (amber) |
Remote control indicator light (7) and remote control parking brake indicator light (8) are mounted on the rear of the operator station.
Remote control indicator light (7) will be on whenever the key start switch and the remote control switch in the operator station, are in the ON position. This indicates that the machine is ready to be operated by remote control.
Remote control parking brake indicator light (8) will be on when the parking brake is engaged while operating the machine by remote control. When the parking brake is disengaged at transmitter (4), the light will go out.
