Using Messenger to Determine Diagnostic Codes

Diagnostic codes which are active and diagnostic codes which are logged can be viewed or cleared using the "Messenger."

Perform the following steps in order to view the active and logged diagnostic codes:

    Messenger Main Menu

  1. From the Messenger Main Menu page, scroll to "Service" menu and press the "OK" button.

  2. From the Messenger Service Menu page, the first option in the service menu will be "Diagnostics/Events". Press "OK" in order to view the list of Active codes and Logged codes.

  3. The Messenger Diagnostics/Events List screen shows the following:

    SRC - Source

    CODE - MID, CID, FMI, EID and WCI

    OCC - The number of occurrences of the codes

    ACT - The fact that the code is active

    Pressing "OK" on any of these codes will display the Diagnostic/Event screen.

    Note: If the code is "Active", there will be an "A" in the "ACT" column.

The Messenger Diagnostic/Event Detail screen

The Messenger Diagnostic/Event Detail screen will display the following:

  • Source of the failure

  • Code CID, FMI, EID and WCI

  • Text description of failed component

  • Text description of the type of failure
