  1. Actuate the push button for water spray.

Expected Result:

The water spray pump should be running.

Results:

  • OK - The water spray pump is running.

Repair: There is no problem at this time. If the problem reoccurs, perform this test procedure again.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The water spray pump is not running. Proceed to Test Step 2.

Test Step 2. CHECK THE INDIAVSOR LAMP FOR WATER SPRAY

  1. Check the status of the indicator lamp for the water spray.

Expected Result:

The indicator lamp is Illuminated.

Results:

  • OK - The indicator lamp is Illuminated. Proceed to Test Step 3.

  • NOT OK - The indicator lamp is not Illuminated. Proceed to Test Step 9.

Test Step 3. CHECK THE RELAY

  1. Switch the relay "WATER SPRAY RELAY 1" with the relay "BACKUP ALARM RELAY".

Expected Result:

The water spray pump is running.

Results:

  • OK - The water spray pump is running.

Repair: The relay has failed. Replace the relay.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The water spray pump is not running. Proceed to Test Step 4.

Test Step 4. CHECK FOR SIGNAL VOLTAGE AT THE RELAY

  1. Remove the relay "WATER SPRAY RELAY 1".

  1. Check the voltage from contact 1 to contact 2 at the relay base.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 7.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 5.

Test Step 5. CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT AT THE RELAY

  1. Check voltage from contact 1 of the relay base to frame ground.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Repair: The ground circuit (wire 200-BK) is open. Check all wire connections and the wire harness.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 6.

Test Step 6. CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE SWITCH

  1. Check voltage from contact 1 of the water spray switch to frame ground.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Repair: There is an open circuit in wire C935-PU. Check all connections for wire C935-PU. Repair the open circuit.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts.

Repair: The water spray switch has failed. Replace the switch.

    Stop.

Test Step 7. CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE RELAY

  1. Check the voltage from contact 1 to contact 3 at the relay base.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Repair: There is an open in wire C905-OR. Check all connections for wire C905-OR. Check the connection at the selector switch for the water spray. Repair the open circuit.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 8.

Test Step 8. CHECK THE FUSE

  1. Check the fuse for the water spray.

Expected Result:

The fuse is good.

Results:

  • OK - The fuse is good.

Repair: There is an open in wire 110-GN. Check all connections for wire 110-GN. Repair the open circuit.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The fuse is open.

    Repair: Replace the fuse.

    Stop.

Test Step 9. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE ECM

  1. Check the voltage from contact 9 to contact 2 at the machine harness for the ECM.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Repair: There is an open in wire B438-OR. Check all connections for wire B438-OR. Check the connection at the water spray switch. Repair the open circuit.

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 10.

Test Step 10. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE FROM THE SWITCH AT THE ECM.

  1. Actuate the push button switch for the water spray.

  1. Check the voltage from contact 12 to contact 2 at the machine harness for the ECM.

Expected Result:

The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Results:

  • OK - The voltage is approximately 12 volts.

Repair: It is unlikely that the ECM has failed. Exit this procedure and perform the procedures again. If the cause of the failure is not found, replace the ECM. See Testing and Adjusting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".

    Stop.

  • NOT OK - The voltage is less than 12 volts. Proceed to Test Step 11.

Test Step 11. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE SWITCH
