Start By:

  1. Remove the drive axles. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Axles - Remove".
  2. Remove the main drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Drive Shaft (Main) - Remove".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "AVSpare Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on AVSpare products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove yoke assembly (1). Remove bolts (2). Remove plate (3) .

  1. Remove cover (4) .

  1. Place the transmission into third gear. Remove pin assemblies (5) and (6) .

  1. Remove bolts (7) and (9). Position cable assemblies (8) and (10) out of the way.

  1. Remove cover (11) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto the transmission and bevel gear. The weight of transmission and bevel gear (12) is approximately 907 kg (2000 lb).

  1. Do not remove bolt (14). Remove bolts (13) .

  1. Install Tooling (B). Use Tooling (B) to separate transmission and bevel gear (12) from the frame.

  1. Move transmission and bevel gear (12) out of the machine. Place Tooling (A) onto Tooling (C) .

  1. Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device onto transmission and bevel gear (12). The weight of transmission and bevel gear (12) is approximately 907 kg (2000 lb). Remove transmission and bevel gear (12) .
