Remove And Install Blower Assembly
1. Disconnect the electrical wire from the blower assembly (1). Remove the nut and the ground wire from the shock mount (2).
2. Remove the other shock mount nuts, and pull the blower assembly and adapter plate (3) off the studs.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the blower assembly.
3. To reinstall, position the adapter plate (3) and the blower assembly (1) on the studs. Install and tighten three of the nuts.
4. Install the ground wire on the other shock mount stud and reconnect the other electrical wire to the blower assembly.
Remove Burner Assembly
Start By:
a. remove blower assembly.
1. Disconnect the fuel line (1) and immediately cap or plug the openings.
2. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the glow plug (2).
3. Mark the position of the burner assembly upper chamber (3) with respect to the lower burner chamber (4) for reinstallation.
4. Remove the four mounting bolts (5) and remove the upper burner chamber assembly from the screed.
5. If lower burner chamber (4) is to be removed, first remove the handrail assembly and the screed cover.
Disassemble Burner Assembly
Start By:
a. remove burner assembly.
1. Remove the cover (1) from the top of the upper burner chamber assembly.
2. Loosen setscrew in retainer (3) and remove the nut, lockwasher, flatwasher and retainer from the combustion head holder stud (2). Lift the combustion head assembly out of the upper chamber.
3. Remove pipe nipples (4) from the combustion head assembly.
4. Remove the two bolts (5) and spacers (6), and remove the mounting bracket (7) and combustion head holder bracket (8) from the combustion head assembly.
5. Remove the nozzle (11) from adapter (10), and the adapter from the combustion head (9).
Assemble Burner Assembly
1. Install the nozzle (12) into the adapter (11), and the adapter into the combustion head (10).
2. Assemble the spacers (7) between combustion head (10) and combustion head holder bracket (9), and install mounting bracket (8) and bolts (6) to hold the components to the combustion head assembly.
3. Install the pipe nipples (5) through the center hole of the two brackets and into the adapter (11).
4. Put retainer (4) in position on the pipe nipple and on the stud of holder bracket (9). Install the flatwasher, lockwasher and nut on the stud.
5. Lower the combustion head assembly into the upper chamber (3), and tighten the nut against retainer (4) when the assembly is in the correct vertical position of the upper chamber slot. Tighten the retainer setscrew (2).
6. Install the cover plate (1) to the top of upper burner chamber assembly (3).
End By:
a. install burner assembly.
Install Burner Assembly
1. If the lower burner chamber (1) was removed, reinstall it to the base of the screed.
2. Position the upper burner chamber (2) to lower burner chamber (1) with the correct orientation, and install the bolts and flatwashers.
3. Reconnect the wiring to the glow plug (3).
4. Remove the caps or plugs and install the fuel line (4).
End By:
a. install blower assembly.
NOTE: If removed, install the handrail assembly and screed covers.
Remove And Install Spin-On Filter (Fuel Supply)
1. Disconnect the supply hose quick disconnect from the rear of the tractor.
2. Remove the spin-on filter element (1) from the head (2).
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the spin-on filter.
3. Place a thin film of diesel fuel on the gasket of the new spin-on filter element.
4. Install the new filter element on the threads of the head until the gasket just makes contact with the head, then turn the element 3/4 turn more.
Remove And Install Inline Filters (Fuel Supply)
1. Disconnect the supply hose quick disconnect at the rear of the tractor.
2. Remove the inline filter (1) from the fittings of the individual burner fuel supply line.
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the inline filters.
3. Install a new inline filter between the fittings of the same burner fuel supply line.
4. If necessary, repeat this procedure for each burner.
