1.1. Removal Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the radiator and hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Radiator and Hydraulic Oil Cooler".
- Remove the muffler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Muffler - Remove and Install".
- Remove the alternator. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Alternator - Remove and Install".
- Remove the starter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install".
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Cleaner - Remove and Install".
- Tilt the cab. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab Tilt".

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately. |

Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
- Support the piston pump with a suitable device. The weight of the pump is approximately 59 kg (130 lb).
- Remove bolts (1) .

- Disconnect harness assembly (2). Remove bolt (3) .

Note: The piston pump is removed for photographic purposes.
- Loosen nut (4). Remove clip (7). Position governor cable (6) out of the way. Disconnect hose assemblies (5) .

- Disconnect harness assembly (8). Disconnect wire (9) .

- Remove nut (11). Disconnect wire (10). Remove cable straps (12) .

- Loosen clamp (13). Disconnect hose (14). Disconnect harness assembly (15) .

- Attach Tooling (A) to the engine.

- Remove nut (23). Release hose (22). Remove bolts (24). Remove the engine. The weight of the engine is approximately 250 kg (550 lb).
