1.1. Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Turbocharger - Remove".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
Note: Different turbochargers are available for use with 3500B Engines. For some of the turbochargers, only the cartridge is serviced. Further disassembly is not possible.
- Mark the three turbocharger housings for alignment upon assembly.
- Disconnect tube assemblies (1) and (2).
- Remove bolts (3) and (5).
- Remove turbine housing (4).
- Use two people in order to remove cartridge assembly (6) from compressor housing (8). The weight of cartridge assembly (6) is approximately
30 kg (70 lb) . - Remove bolts (7).
