CAES v3.1.1 Software Update

A new software update is available for machines that are installed with Computer Aided Earthmoving System (CAES) v3.1 software. The update consists of software that can be downloaded from SISweb.

The software utilizes the existing v3.1 software. There is no cost for the v3.1.1 software update to customers that are currently running the v3.1 software. The v3.1.1 software utilizes the v3.1 Software Activation Keys.

Note: The v3.1.1 software update does not support Microsoft Vista.

Enhancements to the Software

The CAESultra software provides the following enhancements:

• The software has been updated in order to capture the new information for daylight savings time.

• Improvements were made in the software to handle the different time zones when a Customer Supplied Radio is used.

• The NetConfigNT utility that is used for configuring DHCP and Static Addressing has been improved.

• The window for the "About CAESultra" dialog has been updated in order to include the machine name.

The CAES Office Suite software provides the following enhancements:

• The method of processing Security Keys in METSmanager was improved.

• The software now allows METSmanager to report the status of the "Move Enable" option in *.cat files.

• The "Move Design" functionality for *.cat files has been improved.

• The method that METScomms uses to process TMAC messages has been improved.

• The method of processing previous requests in the communication queue has been improved.

• The method of processing imported mined-out areas has been improved.

• The method that is used to install the Upload Server package has been improved.

• The method that is used to synchronize the Utilization reports to the Timeline reports has been improved.

• The method that Report Generator uses to process the Timeline data has been improved.

• A new version of File Builder has been added that supports improved checklist files.

• The machine file templates that are used for ore control handling of groups have been improved.

The v3.1 software installation should be performed on each PC that contains any of the following CAES v3.1 software packages:

• METSmanager

• METScomms

• CAESoffice

• Upload Server

• Report Generator

• File Builder

Note: If any of the listed software packages are installed to a PC after the v3.1.1 update, then perform the installation again.

Verify the following information prior to installing the v3.1.1 software update:

• Confirm that each PC contains v3.1 production software.

• Confirm that a separate 292-4542 CAESultra v3.1 onboard Software Activation Key has been purchased for each D3:C4 Nav 10.4 Display.

CAES v3.1 Release Note:

After the installation is complete, the "About" dialog for the installed package will list v3.1.110 as the installed version.

CAES v3.1 SP.exe File

The software for the v3.1 upgrade is located on SISweb in the "Downloads" section. The software is in the form of a self-extracting file.

The name of the file is "CAES v3.1 SP.exe". The file should be copied to a directory on the local PC. The file should then be executed for extraction.

The file that is extracted creates a main folder. The name of this folder is "/CAES v3.1 SP". The main folder contains the two folders that are listed below:

• /CAES Office Suite v3.1 SP

• /CAESultra v3.1.110

Each of these folders also contains a self-extracting file.

/CAES Office Suite v3.1 SP Folder

This folder contains the "CAES Office Suite v3.1 Service Pack.exe" file. The file contains updated software for the CAES Office Suite.

The suite consists of the following items:

• METSmanager

• CAESoffice

• Upload Server

• Report Generator

• File Builder

• Template File Changes

• Additional Feature Key files

In order to install the software, perform the following steps:

1. Close any CAES Office Suite components on the PC.

2. Double click the "CAES Office Suite v3.1 Service Pack.exe" file. The "Install" dialog appears.

3. Select the "Next" button. The Service Pack installs the appropriate updates to each of the installed office software packages. After the updates are installed, the "Maintenance Complete" dialog appears.

This folder contains the "CAESultra v3.1.110.exe" file. The file contains the current production software for CAESultra v3.1.110 software. This software is used to update the D3:C4 Nav 10.4 Display.

Follow the steps in Special Instruction, REHS3128, "CAES v3.1 Upgrade", "Upgrading CAESultra On-board Software" in order to transfer the file from the PC to the Display.
